Kenya orphanage update

from Go Ye Ministries, Without Walls, and Horizons Foundation

God is protecting His kids

The orphanage in Kendu Bay supports 67 orphans plus staff and 5 destitute women living nearby.

It is directed by Bishop Washington Amara (pronounced eye-you-gee).  This is the gentleman who began to bring orphans into his home many years ago to give them a safe place to grow and thrive.

As reported last month, in Kenya, the cost of food has risen about 60% since January 2022. The normal, basic daily Kenyan diet prepared for the orphans includes three meals of a) bread made from corn, served like cornbread, b) beans and rice, and c) collard greens called sukuma wiki.  The cost of corn (maize) has risen over 122% since January 2022 and almost 25% of the entire food budget is spent on maize. That’s like getting the cheapest subsistence meal you can buy in January 2022 for $3.60 and then buying the exact same cheapest subsistence meal in October 2022 for $8.00.

As we have said before, it’s only by the grace of God, that these children have a home and food.  Again, the total cost has increased almost 60% between January and November 2022.

To immediately increase the yield from the crops grown, a large water tank that holds almost 400 gallons of water has now been purchased and water is being drawn from Lake Victoria almost every day to provide water for the Jehovah Jireh Farm, the 7 acres planted with maize, beans, collard greens, tomatoes and onions. Water is now being applied to the acreage almost every day!!!  Thank you Lord!

The water tank is hauled on the tuk-tuk that was purchased on October 31, 2022.
