1. Comfort for Widows
When Betty and Avis were nearing the end of their mission trip, they visited a large congregation outside of Nairobi, Kenya. What they saw was heartbreaking: families with so little, widows struggling, and hungry families. We partnered with the local congregation to serve them food, and gave the widows comforter blankets as a gift of warmth (that area of Kenya has a higher elevation and can have snow). It was a wonderful time of ministering to the most vulnerable people from the slum area, some of the most impoverished areas. See the line of widows, and their joy receiving such a gift!

2. New Trunks and Supplies
For our kids, a trunk is their personal storage space, holding all of their belongings. (Just imagine if everything we claimed as ours fit inside a single trunk?) Many trunks were falling apart, so thanks to the generosity of supporters, every child received a new trunk! Along with it we were able to gift to each child: a trunk lock, a fresh blanket, new sheets, towel, washcloth, new undergarments, their own cup and utensils, plus a new plastic wash basin. The wash basins are essential for hand washing their own clothing; and since they tend to crack or break over time, replacements were needed and appreciated.

3. Special Memories
One favorite memory Avis shared was spending time with two boys, Joseph and Wayne, who would often come visit with her. They would read the Bible together and talk about its stories. These moments were filled with joy and discovery, leaving a lasting spiritual impact on the boys.
Each child grade 6 and up was given a home Bible during this mission trip, thanks to your generosity!

4. Jewelry for the Girls
Another highlight of the trip was when the older girls were given beautiful donated jewelry. They proudly wore and modeled their new treasures, feeling seen, loved, and celebrated. Such gifts remind these young ladies of their worth and beauty!

5. Water Tanks and Pond Update
The water situation continues to show both progress and challenges. On the positive side, the new rainwater tanks still have water so far for this dry season (we estimate it’s been dry since June 6), proving what a game-changer and blessing they are for the compound. As a reminder, the tank water is used for drinking, cooking, and washing food dishes.
On the other hand, the pond has been drying for the first time since it was built. The pond water is used for washing (people and clothing), and to water the farm. After investigation, it was discovered that when the road was built and changed from mud to gravel, one location of water flow into the pond was unintentionally cut off. During the mission trip, a fix was made to redirect the water so the pond can once again be a year-round reliable source. Time will tell if the fix that was done will create our intended outcome, and we pray it will.
One more note: Large night lights (like US street lights) were installed on property to increase safety and visibility. These are all in one units with their own solar panel, and do not drain our current solar power system.

Every gift and each prayer brings hope and dignity to the children in Kenya! Thank you!
