Go Ye Ministries + Horizons Foundation, by Cara Lottes

Dear friends,     Betty Bartholomew’s son Dustin

passed from this life on April 16, 2026. Please join us in praying for Betty and their grieving family and friends.Dustin lived his faith in a way that inspired others to follow: a daily practice of being a better person than he had been the day before. Please read Dustin’s obituary and enjoy photo memories here.  https://www.luginbuel.com/deceased-records/person/dustin-eugene-shreve-1985-2026

We share this hope from Revelation 21:4 NLT: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

April 2026 Newsletter

In This Issue:

1. School Break in Kenya
2. Property and Improvements
3. Specific Needs with Direct Impact

1. School Break
The children have returned to school on April 27 after their 3-week break, and we are so thankful this school term is paid in full … funded by your generosity! The kids had fun, rested, and spent time helping on the farm with weeding and tending crops.

Above, helping on the farm and below, enjoying a frozen icy treat!

2. Property and Improvements
Our water tanks are completely full, and the pond is continuing to rise – both great blessings to supply water for the children and farm operations! Also, the sukuma wiki planted should be ready by June (a staple food like collard green), which will reduce food costs. The drought that occurred before the current rainy season impaired our ability to grow food onsite.

Two important infrastructure improvements were completed in April. A portion of our road and a small bridge used for drainage were being washed out from the recent heavy rains, and are now repaired. Some of our teen youths were able to help with rock placement while on break!

3. Specific Needs with Direct Impact
We have two requested projects; providing the opportunity for direct giving to exact items.

First, we want to provide each child with a new pair of mud boots. Each pair costs about $7 so a need for a child can be filled with a $7 donation! The total is about $500 for everyone. As you can imagine, children quickly outgrow or wear through their shoes, and boots are essential during the rainy season.

Second, we would like to install concrete flooring in the dining/ recreation hall, which currently has a dirt floor, for an estimated total of $1600 USD. This would greatly improve cleanliness and usability during rainy reasons.
August 2026 mission trip plans are underway: You’re invited to witness firsthand and be part of the impact being made. There is no more direct way to give than personally serving by sharing your time and talents!
