1. Mission Trip in August
We are excited for another mission trip to Kenya this August! The team will spend time with the children, encourage the staff, and experience the ministry firsthand. Newcomers welcome!
2. Additional Water Tanks Installed
A recent donation allowed us to purchase and install six more water tanks on the property! Last season’s drought showed the need for more water storage for long-term sustainability for the campus.
Two of the tanks were installed at the farm to hold pond water for farm use; while four were added by the dormitories to collect roof runoff for drinking water. The tanks were installed before the rainy season ended last week, allowing the new tanks to already reach about half full. All the previously existing tanks on the property are currently completely full. This will be a blessing to the ministry for years to come.
3. Sheep Pen Relocated
The sheep pen was moved to higher ground after heavy rains in the just-ended rainy season caused water from a nearby creek to begin entering the original enclosure. We are thankful the animals are now in a much safer location.
4. Prayer Requests
Please pray for the 17 children and adults on campus who have recently been sick with the flu. Teresa, Washington’s wife, is one of those sick and Washington is of course helping care for both her and their baby. There are kids not feeling well, missing school, plus medicine needing purchased that was not in the budget.
We also ask for prayers regarding recent Ebola cases reported in Kenya (and other African countries). Please pray for protection for the children, staff, and our missionaries in August.
